The Rado Method. A professional athlete pushes their body to compete at the highest level. It’s their job and body is the tool they use to do their job.
But when it comes to vitamins, supplements, and specialized nutrition, why do we treat the professional athlete like bodybuilders? Products on the market today miss the mark for athletes, with most of them geared toward the “bodybuilder mentality” of simply bulking up and gaining muscle.
Bring Your A-Game
At RADO Performance Nutrition, we believe the professional athlete needs more than products designed for “bodybuilder” mentality. We provide clients with customized supplements and nutrition based on their biochemistry, genetics, health history and lifestyle.
Lisa Rado of RADO Performance Nutrition developed The RADO Method for professional athletes to help give them a competitive edge, overall improved performance, and better health.
“An athlete needs power, speed, precision, focus, skill, strength and fast recovery to do it all over again” she says. “Some of this is accomplished in the weight room and with conditioning. But ALL of it is fueled by intelligent nutrition, intentional supplementation, proper recovery and cellular function.” And that’s how she gives her client’s “the edge”.
Lisa has worked with athletes in the NHL, NFL, NCAA and MLB and has produced results that her clients can see and feel. It’s literally a game changer.
“As an athlete, I thought I was healthy, but couldn’t understand why I didn’t feel great. Within days of working with Lisa, everything changed for the better. I never realized how much proper nutrition, hydration and supplementation affects how you feel and ultimately perform. I’m the fittest, strongest, fastest and the most powerful I’ve ever been in my career because of The RADO Method and Lisa.”

Give It A Rest
Fatigue is one of the most common ailments professional athletes struggle with. “Most are so exhausted from the non-stop training and playing,” Lisa explains, “because they’ve been playing since they entered high school or college. Their energy stores are simply depleted and they struggle to maintain such a high level of performance day in and day out.”
“Products on the market today don’t address the things I see with professional athletes, like fatigue and cellular fatigue,” she says. “An athlete can’t perform at their best because they are never fully recovered. They need ingredients and products for recovery and that’s what we do at RADO Performance Nutrition. We use our Refuel Anytime, Pre Workout and Post Workout drinks to hydrate, assist the body in reducing muscle fatigue and increase the immune system.”
Fatigue in athletic performance is different than every day fatigue that an average person might describe feeling from a poor night’s sleep. An in-depth study from The University of New Mexico on recovery in athletes cites fatigue as “any exercise-induced reduction in force or power, regardless of whether or not the task can be sustained.”
Lisa works to replenish and restore the body on a cellular and holistic level to decrease fatigue. She believes cellular recovery after performing or competing is the key to feeling better and preventing injury.

Keep It Clean
In working with professional athletes, Lisa is sensitive to their concerns regarding ingredients in supplements and products. All of the RADO Performance Nutrition products are FREE of any league banned substances, artificial ingredients, artificial sweeteners, gluten, dairy and soy.
Ultimately, Lisa’s goal is to create trust between her and the athlete so that they know she is working to help them to achieve their goals. Making sure the products she gives them are the highest quality and safe for her clients, is just part of that trust.
Making it Personal
Customizing an athlete’s training and approach is very different from the “Old School” philosophy of group training at a performance facility and traditional doctor/medicine solutions for the body.
In addition to detox, supplements and diet, Lisa works closely with Dr. Chad Moreau who specializes in sports functional training and believes in integrated one-on-one high performance training with biometrics balancing.
Start From The Beginning
Lisa can work with athletes no matter where they are based and says the process is easy to begin. “I can work with someone local or across the country. I start by assessing their blood labs, genetic testing or other tests they’ve had.”
Athletes then complete an intake and evaluation forms so she can get the most detailed and specific information about them. “I dig deep in to each individual’s biochemistry, genetic testing, lifestyle, and health history. The more data I gather, the greater impact I can have on their optimal health, performance and recovery.”
Lisa then sets up an extensive in-depth consultation, either on the phone or in person.
“We discuss objectives and goals. I lay out a plan for each athlete that includes the RADO Performance Detox, custom supplementation and some lifestyle suggestions,” she says.
We make it easy for clients with custom supplement packets for AM and PM. They commit to doing their part and I give them everything thing they need for success.“
“My goal with each athlete is to create an internal environment for them that allows them to perform at their peak level, recover faster on a cellular level and build them to be a more durable and balanced athlete. Customization is the key to my success with clients.”
Change The Inside, Change The Outside
With the RADO Method, we work to help our athletes change their biochemistry. It’s an internal approach that helps the entire body and its complex systems work together to support the intensity of the professional athlete’s needs.
Lisa explains. “We can change their biochemistry from high risk (cardiovascular disease and cardio metabolic risk markers) to optimal and then we see how that translates on the playing field.”
What that means is that many athletes just feel lousy and don’t really know why. Pre-existing conditions or “metabolic disruptors” can leave the body bankrupt when it needs reserves to restore and recover. Lisa says within 3-6 weeks, she has her client’s feeling more energetic, motivated leaner and happier.
