RADO 14-Day Detox FAQ’s
What is a Detoxification?
Detoxing is the process of ridding the body of unhealthy substances. The RADO 14-Day Detox offers a gentle liver detox that incorporates a clean diet combined with a unique blend of protein, herbs, amino acids and antioxidants in the form of powders and supplements. This healthy mix breaks toxins down into metabolites, a process that promotes optimal liver function. Detoxing should not be confused with juicing; a detoxing program nourishes you with fiber and protein, while a juicing program does not. And nutritional science has proven that, to truly rid your body of toxins and unhealthy substances, you need to incorporate fiber and protein into a program. Accordingly, all our products contain a full spectrum of multi vitamins, minerals, protein, fiber and an antioxidant complex that provides nutritional support for a safe detox process.
Is the Detox the same as a Juice Cleanse?
A juice cleanse is a fast which directly effects the bowels and usually leaves you starving or lacking energy. The bowels cannot cleanse, filter or remove toxic wastes. A detox is very different from a juice cleanse as nutritional science has proven you need both fiber and protein to truly detox. Juicing alone fails to provide these two essential elements. The RADO 14-Day Detox provides both protein and fiber and won’t leave you starving or lacking energy. Harmful molecules need to be able to attach onto proteins in order to be properly removed – rather than re-circulated. Fiber makes it easy for the body to usher out waste and toxins that would be at risk for re-absorption. Fiber and protein help to maintain a healthy metabolism, optimize digestion, rebuild cells and increase energy. The liver is designed to remove toxic matter such as dead cells, microorganisms, chemicals, drugs, alcohol and debris from the bloodstream. The liver, like any filter, needs to be cleansed regularly.
Can I continue my regular vitamins and medications?
Our products contain many vitamins and nutrients to help meet your daily requirements. You may suspend natural supplements and athletic nutritional support during the Metabolic Reset. Continue to take any medically prescribed pharmaceuticals. Ask your healthcare practitioner if you have any specific questions.
Are there any special items that I need that aren’t included in the detox?
Yes, it’s highly recommended to include ground chia (ground chia seeds, chia meal) and you will need a blender. Take a look at the shake recipes to see which additional ingredients you might want to have on hand such as flavored liquid stevia, spices and frozen fruit.
I subscribe to a Paleo Lifestyle, can I still do the detox?
Yes. The legumes, grains and starchy carbohydrates on the optimal foods list are optional.

Can I exercise while on the detox?
Yes! However, in the beginning, you may feel fatigued for a few days as your body begins to detox. Vigorous workouts during these days will compete with the body’s ability to detox efficiently, so gentler activities such as walking, stretching and yoga are recommended instead. Once the fatigue has passed you can resume to your normal workouts.
How often should I detox?
We recommend detoxing twice a year.
Why is there a Prop 65 warning label on this product?
Proposition 65 is a California law that requires a warning on any products containing qualifying levels of over 800 substances, such as pesticides, heavy metals, and even Vitamin A at certain levels. The reason some of our products contain this warning is due to the presence of lead above .5 mcg per recommended daily dose or per serving. This affects less than 15% of our products.
NOTE: We use the purest ingredients available, but lead is everywhere in our environment and is impossible to avoid in many natural, plant-based ingredients. That’s because lead is found in the soil where the plants are grown and, therefore, it is present in virtually all plant-based foods. The highest per serving lead level found in most supplement products is less than you might find in a 4 oz. serving of lettuce. The fact is – most foods found in the produce section of the grocery store, along with many other healthy foods such as nuts, fish, wine, and many others – would require a Prop 65 warning label if the law was uniformly enforced.
Does a Prop 65 warning mean the product is unsafe?
As the State of California’s own Proposition 65 website states, “A Proposition 65 warning does not necessarily mean a product is in violation of any product-safety standards or requirements.”
The FDA’s Recommended Safe and Tolerable Daily Diet Lead Intake for adults is 75 mcg. This is 150 times the amount that requires a Prop 65 warning, and yet is considered safe by the U.S. FDA. The FDA has established 750 mcg as the amount of lead that is known to cause health problems. This is 1,500 times the amount that requires a Prop 65 warning. This issue affects all companies that make nutritional supplements. The fact that some companies selling in California are not adding warning labels to their products does not mean their products are free of lead. Some companies may not be aware of the law; some have apparently chosen not to comply; still others have been sued or are currently in litigation with the state of California regarding their failure to comply with the law. Since consumers have the right to be informed, and even practitioners are subject to the law and subject to fines for failure to comply, Rado Nutrition has chosen to add warning labels to any affected products, thereby informing consumers and protecting all parties involved.
