RADO Nutrition understands the issues and pains associated with PMS better than most. In fact, some of our clients have noticed a significant change in their PMS symptoms post detox. Our detox helps clear the liver, which is where our hormones are metabolized. A sluggish and congested liver can contribute to erratic and uncomfortable symptoms. These negative PSM symptoms typically improve during and after the detox due to the liver function optimized and the high levels of vitamins in the detox packets. Women who typically experience PMS symptoms are not receiving enough B6 vitamin (and other B Vitamins) and fiber from their daily diet. These women typically are low in calcium, vitamins K and E, even magnesium. Without a massive intake of these vitamins your period symptoms tend to become more substantial than a woman who has just finished the detox and has proper nutrients in her system. The detox forces you to remove items from your diet that maybe making your symptoms worse. Food like sugar, salt, caffeine and alcohol trigger these symptoms. Other ways to improve your symptoms are to modify your diet.
Foods that Decrease PMS Symptoms
Diet focus during PMS: Plant-based diet high in vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds and natural herbs.
Omega-3 Fat
Omega-3 fat food category includes wild salmon, sardines and
anchovies. Wild-caught fish will help with pain reduction and inflammation, relieving some symptoms of PMS.
Avocado
The saying for women should be “an avocado a day keeps the doctor away”. Avocados have been proven to naturally balance hormones for women. The nutritional content is high in healthy fat, magnesium, fiber, potassium and vitamin B6. As mentioned, low vitamin B6 is one of the main causes for increase in PMS symptoms.
Fiber
All women should be getting at least 30 grams of fiber daily, according to Dr. Axe. Fiber will promote proper hormone balance. Fiber will actually bind estrogen together and remove it from your body, allowing you to experience less PMS Symptoms. Foods high in fiber; berries, avocado, Asian pears, coconut, figs, artichokes, Brussels sprouts, and more.
Vegetables
Leafy green vegetables provide an excellent source of calcium, vitamin K and magnesium. These vegetables may serve as a natural diuretic as well.
Jennifer Fugo an avid RADO Nutrition client and Founder, Author, Speaker & Advocate for Healthy Gluten-Free Living of Gluten Free School took to socia media to explain the difference in her symptoms after the detox.
Here is a copy of Jennifer’s testimony:
“The craziest thing happened to me when I did the Rado Nutrition Detox that I never expected… my horrible, painful monthly period was gone. Like… seriously, vanished.
The past 2 to 3 years my periods have become so terrible and I dread “that time of the month” because of a super heavy flow, really bad cramps, feeling incredibly moody, and on one day (usually the 2nd) I’m so exhausted and sick feeling with terrible cramps and lower back pain that occasionally I’ll break down to take something (and I HATE to take meds, by the way, so it’s a big deal for me when I do).
I started the Detox a week before my period and literally had no signs or symptoms of PMS. It was the easiest period I’ve had since I was on birth control pills in my early 20s. No heavy bleeding, no bloating, no cramps, no total washout day, no nothing. I was able to go about my day feeling really great regardless of what time of the month it was!
If that’s not amazing, then I don’t know what is because this is a total game changer for me that I never even thought was possible. You’ve converted me to a fan for life. Thank you!”
