It’s the time of year to eat, drink and be merry! And we couldn’t think of a better way than to ring in the holidays with RADO Nutrition Christmas Tree Brownies! Not everything we indulge in this season has to add a few inches to our waistline just because it tastes delicious. Healthy food can be delicious food and cute to boot! Who doesn’t love a brownie shaped like a tree?
Our resident RADO Nutrition kitchenista Jasmine loves to whip up healthy culinary creations that are on point and delicious. The perfect mix of healthy and yummy, she bakes and cooks with a paleo-friendly approach but never comprises taste. These brownies not only taste amazing but have holiday style because that’s just how our kitchenista does it!
In this recipe, she added protein along with some healthy fat help to create the perfect brownie for sharing or keeping all to yourself. The chocolate ganache topping with white chia seeds gives them that beautiful wintery look.
“I used the RADO Nutrition chocolate pea protein powder but you can use whichever one you want, chocolate or vanilla,” says Jasmine, noting either the beef or pea protein would work here.
Jasmine also uses a combination of butter and ghee. Ghee is a clarified butter which some find much easier to digest. (She loved the Tin Star Organic brown butter ghee that she found on Amazon.) Ghee is paleo and lactose free because it is the oil of the butter, and it contains 25% medium and short chain fatty acid. In short, it’s a good fat.
She added a little more “good fat” with a few teaspoons of coconut oil and all of its medium-chain triglyceride goodness. Both ghee and coconut oil promote weight loss because they help to burn other fats in our system and ghee is thought to help eliminate toxins from the body. Win win when you’re eating a brownie.
